Hellraid
By Amanda

When I look at that photo, I think: "WOW! How creative!" The photo above by Hellraid shows the true talent he possesses. Hellraid started in graphics in 2002 on a forum dedicated to wrestling. At the time his father owned photoshop 7 and from then on there was no going back. Hellraid joined FringeFX when it first opened. He was good friends with Matt and could not pass up the chance.
Hellraid started to get sick of the same old stock-and-C4D combination in his signatures, and wanted to pursue something different. He started in standard large art, then after taking a class in 2009 he started to get into photography, where he ended up with amazing results. Hellraid is a classic example of a member on FringeFX who has excelled to become an overall fantastic photographer and artist.

On his path to find something different, Hellraid found a very rewarding passion in photography. His art is very pleasing to look at, and I really cannot wait for his next photo. If Hellraid stuck to tags, I am pretty sure he would be good at them. However, I am sure most people are glad he stuck with photography, because his work is such an inspiration to other photographers everywhere.

Every time he posts his work, it seems to just get better and better. Hellraid has claimed he would wait days just to get the perfect shot, but it takes a lot of patience. People may say there are some better artists I could have chosen to do this spotlight on... I disagree. Hellraid is not only a major part of FringeFX's history, but he is an ever-growing photographer as well.

His work show's true creativity, and without creativity no artist can be successful. One of Hellraid's inspirations is Ansel Adams, who is also a very creative photographer well known for his beautiful landscape photography and artistry. Hellraid seeks out his photos all the time, and he states he loves to take landscape and high-speed photos. He must go through so much trial-and-error with the high-speed photos, see as it takes a millisecond for the perfect shot to just fly right by him.

Hellraid is a very promising photographer, and you must be thinking: "What is he going to do in the future?" Well, he hopes to sell his photos for book covers, magazines, and anything else in that category, however he figures he cannot do photography full time.

Hellraid's history on FringeFX is long, as he has been here from the start. He was head of the Resource Team, but only for a short time because the spot was removed. Hellraid was also a Super Moderator for 6-8 months. He took a 4-6 month break recently from FringeFX and now he has returned, stronger than ever. Hellraid loves all the friendly members and staff and can not bring himself to leave again (nor would we ever want him to leave again!). Hellraid has a lot of memories from FringeFX, which he says "there is nothing better than FringeFX." I'm sure everyone can agree with that! Hellraid's most cherished memory on FringeFX was when he won the Referral Contest, where he got 80 or more referrals than the person who came in second place! He doesn't have a "favorite" member on FringeFX; he loves the community as a whole and enjoys all of there company.

Hellraid has been with us for a long time and I have a feeling he will be with us for much longer. We have had a chance to see this photographer flourish into something great, and hope to see him turn into something much greater. You better all get your autographs while they are free because Hellraid will be something, some day! I know I am going to try to get an autograph as soon as possible! Thanks for reading FringeFX, and have a great New Year!
Warhol
By Roxy
A fluent artist who is well known; now it’s time for him to be shown!

Andy Warhol was an inspiration to pop art (the visual movement of art that emerged in the United States in the late 1950’s). Pop art consists of a lot of colors, and is usually abstract. You could say that Andy Warhol was the first artist to gain fame from his contributions to pop art. He is most well known for his whimsical illustrations advertising shoes.

Andy Warhol is not "all in the past," and is also an inspiration to modern art. He studied commercial art, which many designers at Fringe would be able to relate to. During the 1960’s, Andy Warhol began to create iconic yet spectacular paintings of products like Campbell’s Soup Cans, and Coca Cola Bottles.

This artist clearly had a huge impact on the aspects we now consider graphic design. Commercial advertising and magazine illustrations are among these staples in graphic art that many aspire to create.

To take the place of a closing thought, let us admire a couple further works of Andy Warhol's career. The first, of course, is one of his famous face collages which he is quite well known for.
